Solatube® angles & extension tubes
Top and ceiling tube assemblies
All Solatube® Daylighting Systems are supplied with a top tube assembly and ceiling tube assembly that each incorporate a 0-30 degree adjustable angle for ease of installation, with the exception of the Solatube® 330 DS O (open ceiling) model which may not require an angle.
In the Brighten Up® Series, the top tube assembly is constructed with factory-installed seals to prevent air infiltration and a proprietary condensation control system that draws any condensation in the dome into a special channel in the roof dome and out onto the roof through specially-designed exit points. A neoprene insulator provides a thermal barrier and seal between the roof flashing and dome ring. The ceiling tube assembly features a pre-assembled ceiling-ring, with integrated triple seal for excellent insulation, and four twist-lock fixing mechanisms for ease of installation.
In the Solamaster® Series, the dome ring is a separate component that can be connected to either a straight extension tube or angled section, depending on the roof construction and thickness. This allows for ease of installation into applications with or without ceilings. All tube assemblies have a removable film that protects the reflective surface during installation.
Optional extension tubes
Solatube® extension tubes are available in straight or angled lengths. The straight tube lengths telescope together to give the required tube length to meet the install distance required. 
The angled extension tube lengths incorporate a 0-90 degree angle that twists to accommodate turns and avoid obstructions in the tube's path.
The 99.7% reflective Spectralight® Infinity material used in all Solatube angles and extension tubes means that very effective light delivery is possible with tube lengths of up to 6 metres for the Solatube® 160 DS, 9 metres for the Solatube® 290 DS and 15 metres for the Solatube® 330 DS, subject to application.
Spectralight® Infinity
Spectralight® Infinity has the highest reflectivity of any commercially-available material in the world – 99.7% – resulting in the brightest, purest light transfer and unmatched colour rendition. The Spectralight® Infinity material is permanently fixed with thermoset adhesive to provide permanent bond to a 0.4mm thick aluminium substrate and protected by PET film for long-lasting reflectivity. The end result is a rigid, robust tube with a super-reflective mirrored inner surface.
The reflective properties of Spectralight® Infinity have been confirmed by the BBA.
For the Solatube® Brighten Up® Series, maximum recommended tube lengths are 6 metres for the Solatube® 160 DS and 9 metres for the Solatube® 290 DS
For the Solamaster® Series, maximum recommended tube length is 15 metres, however tube lengths of over 20 metres have been installed with remarkable effect – see our case studies
