Mr and Mrs Ward adore their modern bungalow with its spacious rooms. However, there was one problem; because the property has such a large footprint, some of the rooms had very little daylight coming in leaving them dark and rather cheerless, and often during the day they had to use the electric lights in these rooms. This was particularly the case in the kitchen/morning room.

The couple particularly wanted to spend more time in this room which looks out over their beautifully tended garden, but it is a large, long room, and much of it suffered from lack of access to natural light. They wanted to make it brighter and more welcoming.
Mr Ward decided to use the internet to find out what he could do to overcome this situation and soon discovered Solatube® Daylighting Systems. Two Solatube® Daylighting Systems were duly installed in the kitchen and he and his wife are absolutely delighted with the results.
The pictures before and after installation show just what a stunning difference the Solatube® Daylighting Systems have made.
This 'batchelor pad' kitchen was on the top floor of a small apartment block. It has one small window but the owner wanted more light. There was no possibility of installing another window or rooflight, so the owner looked for an alternative and found an ideal solution; now one Solatube® 160 DS lights the kitchen brilliantly. |
When the architect owner of this home added an extension, he knew his kitchen would be further from a source of natural light. He was well aware of the concept of tubular daylighting devices, but chose Solatube® Daylighting Systems over any other as he recognised their superior quality and performance. |
The owners of this kitchen liked their 'retro' wood kitchen units, but found they made the kitchen rather dark. So they changed the wall units for a brighter colour and installed a Solatube® 290 DS Daylighting System. The result is a kitchen that is now colourful and bright, and the natural light shows the remaining wood units to great effect. |
